Everyone already knows about the big bad iPhone 3G and if you have one, ‘m very happy for you. But because I live in the mountains, we don’t have AT&T! It’s a travesty. But I do happen to have a 16GB iPod Touch and I have recently installed the 2.0 software update. This update has many new features, the biggest being support for the App Store. If you haven’t updated, you need to - it’ll feel like you have a brand new device!
I’ve been exploring the App Store quite a bit and I’ve found some very useful applications. Not all of them will cost money, either. There are also plenty of games. I’ve found a very nice game under the free section called Aurora Feint. If you like bejeweled type games or PuzzleQuest, you’ll love this game. It makes excellent use of the accelerometer, has great graphics, and excellent sound. I highly recommend checking this one out.

Hidden inside
Grand Theft Auto 4 is a jab at Apple, Inc. One of the Internet café computers in the game features the website of a fictional computer company called “Fruit”.
Think simple. Think minimalism. Think overpriced.
Simple, maybe. Minimalism, probably but that’s the magic. Overpriced, well, you get what you pay for. Awesome, definitely.
With Apple’s most popular product on the market, the makers of GTA4 sure couldn’t leave out the iPhone.

Choplifter was a PC video game released in 1982 by Dan Gorlin for Broderbund. The premise involves saving hostages and returning them safely to a friendly base. While flying these rescue missions, the player must fight off enemies in the hostile Bungeling Empire. There were many versions of this game, the first being the version for the Apple II. Over the years, other systems ported this game, including Nintendo and Sega. Choplifter was also released in arcades. You can view a video of the Commodore 64 version here.

Good News Choplifter Fans! - Chopper is here.
There is an updated version for OS X! This version, called Chopper is published by Majic Jungle Software. Chopper is shareware and sells for a mere $15. This price is well worth the fun you’ll have! The lastest version, 1.2, features some really beautiful graphics and 3-D sound. There are 72 levels of gameplay in three difficulty levels. The game is different every time you play, because each scene is generated randomly. If you are a fan of Choplifter, you’ll be thrilled with the beautiful landscapes, graphics and sound effects in Chopper. You can download a trial version here, which will give you 60 minutes of gameplay. Somehow, I don’t think 60 minutes will quench a true Choplifter fan’s thirst; you’ll want to buy this one.

When I was a kid, I remember going to my aunt’s house to play Zork on her Commodore 64. I could play for hours and never tire. Zork is a text-only RPG that was published by Infocom in 1980.
It has one of the most famous openings in video game history:

Zork was the first game in a trilogy and while I happened to play it on a Commodore 64, it was released on a wide range of computer systems.
I started to think about Zork yesterday, so I thought I’d see if there was anywhere online to play it. Lo and behold, there is! You can also download the trilogy here.
